What is deckk*, exactly?

DECKK* IS A WORLD OF POSSIBILITIES THAT YOU CAN EXPLORE AS YOU SEE FIT.

We’ll explain.

deckk* represents an object that pretty much everybody is familiar with in one way or another: a deck of playing cards.

deckk*

A standard deck of cards contains 4 suits (or classifications) — clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades. These 4 suits are further divided into two more classifications — red and black.

Each suit has the same cards, ranking from Aces to 2s, with 13 cards per suit.

In any regular card game, each card holds value (or rank) and is played according to that value. This value classification order, or rank, may differ from game to game or country to country.

For deckk*, this is what we assume as true from most valuable to least valuable in rank: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2. So, at this point, we have 4 suits containing 13 ranked cards each. This adds up to 52 cards per deck, evenly distributed between the 4 suits and these, in turn, evenly divided into black and red.

In most games, you play the cards against each other according to their suit and individual rank. A King is ranked higher than a 7, but an Ace is higher than a King, for example.

Some games even establish a leading suit, making those 13 cards more valuable than the remaining 39 cards and three suits. For example, if Spades is chosen as the leading suit, a 2 from this suit out-ranks an Ace from any of the 3 non-leading suits.

But, there’s one more detail that most modern card decks contain: Jokers.

Jokers are wild cards that have assigned value according to the game rules. They differ quite a lot and can mean almost anything depending on the game and its rules.

This is deckk*’s foundation — a playing card deck. Now we get down to business.

Ok. Deckk* is based on a playing card deck. Now what?

Just as in a standard game of cards where they’re shuffled and dealt in an established quantity to each player, Deckk* also follows this principle to deal you your cards.

The only difference is this process is carried out at mint with you receiving a hand of 5 randomly generated cards in the form of an NFT (or token). Each token you receive contains a different hand. These sets (hands) are limited to 8 888 random combinations, meaning there will only ever be 8 888 NFTs containing 5 card representations each.

Going through your 5 cards, you’ll notice that some of the representations have an asterisk * next to them — this means that’s the card representation with the most value. It’s A Commanding Card.

Depending on the game or activity you’re carrying out, this value can be attributed to the playing card number, suit, or colour. You decide.

And here’s where we come full circle:

Those rules, the game you play, what you decide every playing card represents and which value it, the suit or the colour has, are totally up to you.

Now, this is where the fun starts!

So, you now have 5 playing card representations in which some are designated as more valuable (or of different value) than others.

Let’s take this to the next level.

Scrap the playing card representations. Give them your own meaning. Create your own classifications for the playing card representations and their hierarchy, suits and colours. Establish your own meaning for what your set represents.

Instead of an 8, establish that it represents a word, a colour, a shape, an instruction, a name, a body part, an animal, a fruit, a weapon, a move, a dish — whatever you desire.

Instead of Spades, establish that it represents a house, an address, a tribe, a location, or any other groupable characteristic you wish.

Instead of red and black, establish that it represents day and night, high and low, or any other characteristic that suits you.

And don’t forget the Jokers — they can flip everything on its head.

deckk* is the code foundation for whatever you want to build, create and imagine.

We’ve created the basis for you to build on. We created a code represented by a deck of cards, but you can interpret that in any way you please.

Team Deckk*

You can invent a game, a whole new universe, insert the code into a software program to create art, establish rules that help you with a specific activity — whatever you wish and desire.

I understand deckk*, and I even have an idea to apply it to. What now?

The true deckk* game only begins when all 8 888 pieces are minted. You can mint as many as you like to bring your idea to life.

If you’re already a holder, reach out to other holders and see what they’re doing with their deckk* — https://discord.gg/QTwCcvT8

In the meantime, you can create what you want and use your creation in any way you wish.

  • Used deckk* to create art? Excellent! You now have a new digital asset you can do whatever you want with.
  • Used deckk* to create a game? Fantastic! Invite more players to mint deckk* and transform it into something big.
  • Discovered your deckk* has rare card representation combinations that are more valuable than others? Hodl. That might be pretty valuable in the future, be it on the NFT marketplace or for other holders who are missing and need that one special card.

Can I show you what I’ve created?

Of course! We’d be overjoyed to see what you create with deckk*. How about making your process available to other holders so they can try it out too? That would be fantastic.

Share what you created with us through our Twitter account. We want to curate a gallery of deckk* Creations for the whole world to see.

Marketplace and Holder Information

deckk* isn’t a static project that simply wants to mint out.

The 2.5% royalties collected on the secondary market will go into the project’s treasury and be used to fund projects based on deckk* in the future. The decision about which projects receive this support is entirely up to the deckk* community.

Minting deckk* means you’ll vote on this issue and receive a share from future profits.

deckk* is an on-chain NFT project leading the way to unexplored universes.
